Coaching Career
Coach Meister has coached 67 All-Americans (4 at Fort Hays State University), and 63 during his eight years at Wayland. Among those All-Americans is an Olympic Trials Champion, 2 U.S. Open Champion’s, a University World Runner-up, 2 Yarygin Champions (Tamyra Mensah-Stock was the 1st American to win this tournament in consecutive years). 3 WCWA national champions, and 3 University National Champions, 4 USA Wrestling Team Members. 22 of these individuals are either World or Olympic Trials Qualifiers.
 
Competitive Career
Coach Meister has won two USA Wrestling Veteran National Championships. At Fort Hays State University (Kan.), he placed 5th & 4th at NCAA D-II National Championships, and won two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships. He earned First-Team Academic All-American honors twice while competing. While at Labette community college he was a two time NJCAA National Qualifier, capped of his career with a National Championship.
